Intro

"Arey ye India hai yaar..what did you expect?"
"Yahan aisa hi hai.."
"Kya kar sakte hai?"

These and so many other similar phrases have become more frequent today than Namah aste, Vasudaiva kutumbakam, sujalam sufalam, Karmanye Vadhikaraste etc. . I am not hinting at returning to Sanskrit. What I am saying is that we are losing hope or giving up on our nation too easily, without giving it a fair fight..and giving up on something, which is far from a lost cause.

I believe that we Indians, if not all, than most of us, are inherently suffering from a nation-wide inferiority complex. Why do I think so? Well..our body language as a nation seems like a symptom to me.

I also believe that we have real substance in terms of our culture, traditions, morals, hospitality, demographic, work ethics, intelligence, objectivity with imagination, holistic perspectives with human empathy, grandeur with humility yada yada...

The above statement seems like either a politician addressing a nation in denial or like a mugged up and painfully replicated answer to the question "Why is India great?", by a class 6 student, who is incentivized by punishment to learn it by heart. In both cases it is meaningless at best and pretense to hide crap at worst.

This blog is my attempt to actually look out for traces of pride and achievement among these 18% of world's population. I hope that by the end of this journey, the statement above, about actual substance in India, means more to the readers and me, than mere words.
